Celebrating World Ocean Day π today and everyday πππ’π
One of our activities together during the first Mexico @the.drawout retreat that I vividly recall is watching so many baby sea turtles scrambling for the waves and returning to their homes.
I feel blessed whenever I spot a sea turtle in the waves or swimming below the surface. Popping up for air and peering about, I smile back at them with the serene knowing that these ancient reptiles have existing on Earth for over 100 million years.
They would be the perfect creatures to speak to, to share how they have bear witness to how our oceanscapes have changed throughout the years, as humankind has continued to enroach into their habitats.
This year for World Ocean Day I am choosing to raise awareness to protect the sea turtles of Mahahual, a small village in Mexico where community volunteers are working towards beach conservation and sea turtle protection. Preparing for the annual sea turtle nesting season.
Donations support the many volunteers with snacks, petrol and necessary supplies. See link below to give to this cause and check back for other causes that I support.
Much love π€ Leave a place better than you found it.
